In order to thank Japan for aiding Taiwan in need by providing Taiwan with 1.24 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine. FRA not only participated in posting on Sankei Shimbun to thank Japan, but also demonstrated the sincere virtue of Taiwanese "To repay kindness ten times" with practical actions.

We once again donated masks through Dr. Wang Huisheng. FRA raised 400,000 masks. On June 4, Japan sent the vaccine. In just 5 days, on June 9, the masks arrived in Osaka, Japan, went through customs clearance procedures, arrived at Huisheng Hospital on the 25th, and sent them to various medical institutions in Kansai.

Taiwan’s love in return attracted the attention of mainstream media. Major media include NHK made a special trip to take pictures of the unloading process when the masks arrived at Huisheng Hospital at 9:00 in the morning. Video interviews during the afternoon donation were sent to the whole country Not only did the Sankei Shimbun report on the right-wing friends station, but other mainstream Japanese media including the Asahi Shimbun, the Mainichi Shimbun, and Kyodo News reported on their own initiative. Officials from Shiga Prefecture, Otsu City, and Kyoto City also came to witness.

Japan promptly assisting Taiwan and moved the people of Taiwan. The voluntary and spontaneous response from the people of Taiwan also touched the heartstrings of the Japanese people, confirming the catchy Japanese "Kizuna" (connection) between Taiwan and Japan.

While Taiwan has had sucessfully fended off COVID-19 Pandemic, Japan has struggled. Taiwan as a main manufacturer of medical face masks globally, now have more than enough medical face masks to help our allies.

FRA thus launched the initiative to help Japan again, this time with 200 thousands pieces of medical face masks. FRA donated the masks to Hokkaido. The effort was not only thanked by Japanese friends, but also noticed by our own Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
